It's snowing this morning
great thick flakes
that stick to the dried ornamental grasses
and frozen gray buddleia
I look out the window of the aerie
and see one vast view
but in my mind all morning
I've been holed up
at the Slaviansky Bazaar Hotel
for an entire week with you
we hardly come up for air
except for meals
and to go out bicycling
we leave the center of town
and venture into the countryside
marvel at vast fields of flowers
sophisticated drainage systems that blaze the delta
with hyacinth, narcissus, and tulips of every color
to be shipped all over the world
at just this time of year
at the supermarket later this morning
I just might buy some.
