so many images I missed because the train whizzed past so fast
or I wasn't quick enough with my camera
and a rare image fleeted by
or was blocked by a sudden conspiracy of overgrowth
a long-necked heron, poised on a rock surveying the river
a small red boat pulled onto land
resting atilt between stands of orange daylilies
against a vibrant backdrop of blue sky and river
a pair of far away figures seated in a rowboat
silent and still upon the water
as in a Winslow Homer painting
Winslow Homers everywhere, at every turn
in the distance a single three-masted schooner
with pristine white sails
spectacular day & scenery
XOXO
